The role of the Cook is to prepare and serve healthy balances meals to residents in our homes. On occasion you will work alongside other staff or residents in the kitchen making sure everyone’s safety is paramount.
Ensuring all special dietary needs are followed
Preparing food to a high standard
Ensuring the kitchen is always clean and hygienic
Completing weekly food shops whilst managing the budget and adhering to all safety standards
Setting a professional example with all working methods, procedures, personal presentation, timekeeping and hygiene
The ability to maintain the required quality and service standards set

Parkview is a large, detached house registered to provide support for nine men and women with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism, multiple disabilities and associated complex needs. The home is located opposite a large park in the middle of Tilehurst village, two miles from Reading town centre. The home has a dedicated day services building set in the large grounds, which provides areas for sensory stimulation and relaxation, arts and crafts activities, music therapy, and an education room with computer facilities. In addition, the home has its own transport for local travel and regular leisure, recreational and educational trips.
