Job Title: Supply Food Technology Lead or Teacher
Location: Hackney
Salary: £165 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary / Long Term Supply
Are you an experienced Food Technology Teacher or an ambitious practitioner ready to step into a Lead role on a supply basis?
GSL Education are seeking a confident and skilled Food Technology Lead or Teacher to join a secondary setting in Hackney on a temporary or long-term supply contract starting ASAP.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who can deliver high-quality practical and theory lessons, maintain strong classroom management, and support student progress. The ability to teach up to Key Stage 4 is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons up to Key Stage 4
* Prepare students for GCSE assessments, both practical and written components
* Organise and manage practical cooking lessons safely and effectively
* Maintain high standards of health and safety in line with school policies
* Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
* Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
* Support curriculum planning and resource development
* Maintain and manage equipment, ingredients and stock control where required
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are consistently followed
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
* Experience teaching Food Technology up to Key Stage 4 (essential)
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
