Experienced Early Careers Recruiter
Newcastle or Canary Wharf (London)
Company: Balfour Beatty Group Employment Limited (UK)
Are you passionate about shaping the future workforce and delivering exceptional candidate experiences? We’re looking for an Experienced Early Careers Recruiter to join our team and play a pivotal role in attracting, engaging, and hiring the next generation of talent across Balfour Beatty.
What you’ll be doing
* Own the end-to-end recruitment journey: From requirements gathering and requisition management through advertising, attraction, selection, offer, and seamless handoffs to HRSS/EC Development—right up to day one.
* Partner with the business: Build trusted relationships with Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners, and the Head of HR. Provide market and locality insights (skills, hard-to-fill roles, local dynamics) to shape realistic, data-led demand.
* Drive innovative attraction: Deploy targeted EC attraction strategies in line with media schedules—leveraging social channels, new technology, localised engagement, and brand-enhancing initiatives to build robust pipelines.
* Champion candidate experience: Ensure every candidate is Engaged, Equipped, and Enabled through customer‑centric communication, timely interview arrangements and feedback, and smooth onboarding within agreed KPIs.
* Promote inclusive hiring: Help us achieve EDI targets—collaborating with central Attraction and Social Value teams, targeting key demographics, and enabling opportunities for under‑represented groups.
* Make data matter: Maintain ATS integrity, interpret recruitment analytics, and contribute to continuous improvement of reporting (e.g., Power BI) and standardised tools, processes, and controls.
* Collaborate for seamless delivery: Work hand in hand with Early Careers Development and HR Shared Services to align ways of working, meet SLA commitments, and support college enrolment timelines.
Who we’re looking for
* Experience operating within the Early Careers space – recruiting across Graduates, Apprentices, and Placements.
* Demonstrable experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume recruitment environment with a strong grasp of the full lifecycle.
* Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills; able to quickly understand business processes and internal interactions.
* Creative, data‑informed attraction strategies and effective keep‑warm methods.
* Solid understanding of recruitment metrics, forecasting, commercial drivers, and relevant employment law.
* A collaborative team player—agile, dynamic, and ready to pivot to changing priorities.
* Customer‑centric with strong emotional intelligence and a commitment to delivering an outstanding experience.
* Confident using ATS and recruitment analytics (Power BI advantageous).
