Role summary
Plant Quality Manager is the leading quality within the plant, ensuring that on plant level the quality
system is running correctly. Implements and supports Group Quality standards and Policies into the
plant quality, reduces the number of local complaints and increases customer satisfaction so that BMI
is recognised as a quality leader.
1. Plant QM has a deep understanding of technical, process, material used and quality techniques.
2. Never compromises on safety actions and actively addresses employees in case of non-compliance.
3. Understands the quality requirements of the customer and takes them into account in daily work.
Main Responsibilities
4. Responsible for quality at plant level
5. Ensure Group and national requirements incorporated in local standards and procedures.
Regular assessment and verification of the constancy of product and process performance (compliance with internal and external quality standards)
Provide plant level input to Group system and standards
6. Responsible to manage/perform plant quality testing:
Permanent monitoring of factory production control (Receiving inspection of raw materials, processes, intermediate and end products)
Analysis of quality data vs. specification/tolerances (data trend)
Documentation in existing ERP system, communication and archiving of quality data
7. Drives the continuous improvement of quality at plant level:
support of the production in case of quality problems
Improvement and industrialisation of plant products
Creation of validation reports (new products, modified products, process changes)
Support RCN process at plant level, including compliance
8. May stop production if deviations occur
9. Implementation of nonconforming material policy at plant level;
Control of the products (evaluation, blocking and release)
10. Analysis of complaints and claims/quality incident follow-up within the plant
11. Definition of setpoints for products and process parameters of local production
12. Escalation of quality critical items to country or regional level
13. Responsible for the local inspection plans and the quality system (EN ISO 9001) for the plant (incl. audits)
14. Compliance to CE marking and DoP declared performances of plant products
15. Do Supplier / Internal (e.g. daily/weekly checks) / External Audits (ISO 9001, CE, KOMO etc.)
16. Responsibility for test facilities within the plant
17. Support and training of factory production control:
definition and training of quality plans,
guiding production employees in daily activities regarding quality, the control of products and processes as well as dealing with non conformances.
18. Delegates tasks and assigns clear responsibilities relating quality activity
19. Purposefully contributes to increase the performance regarding the quality of the people and treats associates respectfully.
20. Responsible of cleanliness and safety inside the laboratory (5S)
Essential competencies, skills and experience
21. Several years of experience in quality assurance
22. Knowledge of quality methods and techniques e.g. TQM, Ishikawa, 5Why, 8D, SPC
23. Knowledge of regulation and norms relating to group, country and products of plant, including internal audit requirements, ISO 9001, CE, KOMO (if applicable) etc
24. Basic Material Science (knowledge of material used at plant)
25. Basic Production and plant technology
26. Experience in managing a team
27. Training and coaching ability
28. Basic Project management
29. IT (G Suite, SAP, MS Office)
30. Local plant language and English
31. Ability to take leadership
32. Analytic thinking and ability to organise and structure

Required qualifications
37. Bachelor degree in chemistry, material science or engineering, or comparable technical education/experience
