We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to support the successful completion of a £44m project in Pontypridd with our Tier 1 client. The project is now in its final stages and scheduled for handover in August, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys driving projects through the closing phases to completion.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll take the lead on managing finishing trades, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining quality and safety standards, and progressing snagging, commissioning, and final sign-off activities. We’re looking for someone organised, proactive, and confident working at pace as the project approaches completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day site operations during the final construction and fit-out stages
* Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are completed efficiently and in sequence
* Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
* Manage snagging and de-snagging activities through to close-out
* Maintain high health & safety standards across the site at all times
* Review and update short-term programmes and report progress to the Project Manager
* Identify and resolve site issues quickly to avoid delays to practical completion
* Manage inspections, approvals, and documentation required for handover
* Liaise with client representatives, university estates teams, and consultants
* Coordinate logistics for finishing trades, deliveries, and site housekeeping
* Maintain accurate site records, permits, and daily reports
* Support commissioning, testing, and final certification processes
* Work collaboratively to meet key milestones ahead of the August completion date
About You
* Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally on large education or commercial projects
* Strong coordination skills across finishing trades and subcontractors
* Confident managing snagging and project close-out phases
* Excellent organisation and problem-solving ability
* Committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety
* Able to maintain momentum and meet tight deadlines as projects approach handover
