Working Hours: Monday to Thursday – 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; Friday – 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Hybrid working is available for 1–2 days per week after your 3‑month probation period.
In order to be considered:
* At least 3 years' previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment or working with local authorities
* Full range of generalist HR related duties, strong bias towards employee relations in a fast‑paced environment
* CIPD qualification
* Full UK Driving Licence
The Company
Our client is the largest and most successful privately owned manufacturer of fitted kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture in the UK, operating for over 50 years and experiencing year‑on‑year growth. They win tenders to supply fitted kitchens for refurbishment of Council/Housing Association owned properties across the country.
Purpose of the Senior HR Officer role:
To support and advise line managers on all aspects of HR to ensure that all employment policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
Key responsibilities:
* Advising on and attending or leading investigations, disciplinary, grievance and performance management meetings
* Monitoring and managing long‑term and short‑term absences, including attendance and capability meetings, home visits and referrals to Occupational Health or GPs as required
* Advising and supporting line managers and employees with questions about interpretation of policies and procedures/legal issues
* Producing letters/minutes relating to meetings
* Managing maternity/paternity and parental leave processes
* Providing cover on recruitment related matters as required
You must be:
* Confident in your ability to provide correct advice to line managers
* Capable of managing multiple projects positively
* Able to work under pressure and maintain deadlines
* Self‑motivated and willing to “get stuck in” within a busy team
* Very organised, with good written and numerical skills
* Computer literate
* Able to travel around the country and stay away overnight, on occasion, if required
