You will be required to work 30 hours per week, 52.14 Weeks per year.
Monday – Friday
Working 5 days over 7 days will be necessary in this post based on customer requirements (will include weekend working as well as starting early /late on occasions).
This post will be based primarily at Cargen Tower but there may be days where you will work out of different schools within Dumfries depending on service requirements.
Facilities Services (Catering) are looking for a Cook 1 (Function Catering Assistant) that can work as part of a team to provide function catering for events and meetings throughout Dumfries.
You must be an energetic and enthusiastic person that will carry out the following tasks:
Food preparation
Delivery of food throughout the Dumfries area (Driving license required)
Cash handling as and when required
Dishwashing and general kitchen duties
Clearing down and cleaning kitchens
Carry out electronic paperwork
Experience is not necessary as full training will be given if required.
You will also be given Basic Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness training.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. From 28 February, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
