Esterform Packaging Limited is a £85 million turnover business which manufactures preforms and containers for the, Food, Household and Beverage sectors. Esterform is regarded as the leading independent PET bottle manufacturer in the UK, with an enviable record for innovation and service. The business employs approximately 280 people in four manufacturing sites – one in Leeds, one in Tenbury Wells (Worcestershire), one in Northern Ireland and the fourth in Poland. The Payroll & HR Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, and supporting the wider HR team. The role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and knowledge of payroll legislation. Quarterly travel will be required to our other sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
* Prepare and process the multi-site weekly and monthly payroll for all employees in accordance with deadlines.
* Ensure accuracy of salary calculations, deductions, benefits, overtime, and allowances.
* Maintain compliance with tax, pension, and other statutory requirements.
* Prepare and submit payroll reports to finance and management.
* Year-End Balancing & Reporting
* Payroll Project Management (e.g., Payroll System Transitions)
* Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from employees.
HR Systems
* Identifying the most appropriate HR system for the Group
* Policy reviews for new legislation
* Collaborate with HR team bringing in new processes and improvements
* Rolling out the HR system
* Develop Group Gap analysis
* Develop and Maintain Group Training plans
* Support in employee relation matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
Compliance & Reporting
* Ensure compliance with labour laws and HR best practices.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and HR policies.
* Prepare regular HR and payroll reports for management.
* Run Power Bi reports

Qualifications & Experience
* CIPD qualification is essential.
* CIPP qualification is essential.
* Proven experience in payroll processing and HR.
* Knowledge of payroll regulations and employment laws.
* Experience using payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, ADP)
