HR Manager – People Development (Manufacturing)
Overview
This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on, people‑focused HR leader to make a real impact across a busy manufacturing site in Keighley. You’ll shape how the organisation grows its skills, supports its people, and builds a culture where teams feel confident, capable, and ready for what’s ahead.
Purpose of the Role
You’ll lead the full HR agenda on site while driving a practical, forward‑looking people‑development strategy that supports quality, safety, and operational performance. As part of the senior team, you’ll be a trusted partner to leaders—helping them build strong teams, develop talent, and create an environment where people can do their best work.
Key Responsibilities
People Development & Capability Building
Create and deliver a clear development plan that reflects current needs, future skills, and succession priorities.
Introduce simple, transparent development pathways for operators, team leaders, and supervisors.
Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, targeted support, and practical development programmes.
Champion apprenticeships, technical training, and cross‑skilling to build a flexible, resilient workforce.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and shared accountability.
Operational HR Leadership
Provide confident, pragmatic HR support across ER, performance, attendance, and workforce planning.
Keep policies and processes consistent, fair, and aligned with legislation and company values.
Use workforce data and insights to guide decisions around skills, resourcing, and development.
Culture, Engagement & Wellbeing
Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe workplace where people feel respected and able to contribute.
Lead engagement activity that strengthens communication, recognition, and teamwork across shifts.
Support wellbeing through early conversations, practical interventions, and a people‑first approach.
Change & Continuous Improvement
Support change with clear communication, coaching, and structured rollout.
Look for opportunities to simplify HR processes and improve the employee experience.
Work with leaders to embed consistent behaviours and ways of working.
Experience & Attributes
Strong HR generalist experience within manufacturing, engineering, or similar operational environments.
A track record in people development, coaching, and building capability.
Confident, credible partnering style with the ability to influence at all levels.
Practical, solutions‑focused, and comfortable working at pace.
Approachable, empathetic, and committed to building trust and psychological safety.
CIPD Level 5 (minimum); Level 7 desirable
