Mpeople Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quality & Compliance Manager for a reputable manufacturing client based in Chadderton.
Location: Chadderton, Oldham. Hours: flexible, earliest start 7:45 am, latest finish 5:15 pm (e.g., 7:45 am–4 pm or 8:30 am–5:15 pm). Salary: Up to £60,000, dependent on experience.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the Quality Manager will have overall responsibility for the business's quality standards and will be crucial in driving continual improvement of quality and efficiency across processes, products, and systems.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of Quality Inspectors.
* Manage the complaints and quality concern process, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with relevant departments.
* Support the internal audit schedule by conducting regular audits to assess and ensure compliance with EN9100, EN9120 and ISO14001, identifying areas for improvement and implementing actions.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on customer requirements to ensure compliance within the production environment.
* Perform specification reviews to ensure products align with specified requirements.
* Liaise with suppliers on quality and conformance of supplied materials and services.
* Manage the calibration process.
* Analyse production processes and data to identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvements while maintaining product quality.
* Develop inspection and risk management methods to analyse product quality in line with customer requirements such as MSA, FMEA, and CPK.
* Provide analytical reports for management (including KPI management), highlight key findings and propose proportionate recommendations.
* Safeguard and promote the integrity of the QMS to ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
* Develop and deliver training to staff on internal quality processes, standards, and best practices.
* Conduct administrative duties in support of the role, including maintaining the internal document register.
* Ensure protection of company intellectual property and customer confidentiality.
* Perform any other tasks and duties as required by management.
Desired Candidate
* Proven ability to lead a quality function within a regulated or manufacturing environment.
* Ability to manage, coach and guide team members and other colleagues to deliver quality standards.
* Experience of line management and employee development.
* Experience promoting company quality standards within the working environment through various means, including delivering regular quality briefings.
* Ability to make decisions quickly, prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
* Strong commercial understanding when making decisions for the company.
* Previous quality assurance experience and demonstrated use of quality tools/methodology, including problem‑solving methodologies (preferably in an aerospace environment).
* PPAP experience desired.
* Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards EN9100, EN9120 and ISO14001.
* Experience conducting internal and external quality audits to verify compliance with ISO standards and regulations.
* Proficient in creating and maintaining accurate quality documentation, reports, and records to facilitate traceability and continuous improvement.
