We re looking for a Quality Manager to lead our asbestos testing and inspection services, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and SOCOTEC s high-quality objectives. In this role, you ll play a pivotal part in maintaining technical accuracy, safety, and excellence across our operations. The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to): Assist the Technical and Quality Director in their duties to ensure the Quality System Manual is implemented, maintained and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Support Management Review as defined in ISO: 17020 & 17025 Lead internal system audits and manage external audit processes Manage the internal and external quality control schemes for lab analysis, fibre counting, surveying and 4-stage clearance activities. Support internal training and mentoring Assist with Quality Management of non-conformance and complaints and implementing corrective and preventive actions as required. Undertake root cause analysis and trend analysis of issues logged, including where possible, implementation of improvement actions, liaising with relevant staff Review and prioritise opportunities for improvement Undertake vertical and desktop audits of projects in line with procedures. Oversee the ongoing calibration and service of equipment across the business Support business units in achieving quality control standards for specific contractual requirements and conduct site QC work where required To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate: Essential: BOHS Certificate of Competence in Asbestos Full UK driving licence Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Minimum of 10 years experience in asbestos, including involvement in both internal and external audits Desirable: Experience with UKAS assessments FAAM membership IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS/SSSTS certification About Asbestos The SOCOTEC Asbestos team holds UKAS accreditation for both Inspection and Testing and is one of the leading asbestos consultancies in the UK. We provide all aspects of asbestos consultancy services, ensuring clients are better equipped to comply with current legislation. These services include surveying, lab analysis of samples, managing removal projects on the clients behalf, consultancy, policy reviews, and action plans and Training. We operate out of six offices covering all areas of the UK, and assist more than 300 clients on a variety of projects, from offices to military bases to hospitals. The work our Asbestos team does is vital in preventing workers from exposure to asbestos fibres, and that all of our clients operate within the asbestos regulations, and wider health and safety framework.
