3. Our Investments businessis a specialist asset manager that focuses on areas where we have both strength and scale to capitalise on the key themes shaping the market, through either public markets or alternative asset classes.
About the Department
Investments Technology Services forms part of the Operations division within Aberdeen.
Its key function is to provide global technology services that, when combined with the intellectual capital within Aberdeen, create value for our clients.
It achieves this by developing and maintaining a technology strategy and architecture that is aligned to the company’s operating model and designed in such a way to enable the implementation of business strategy.
Investments Technology Solutions also contains the capabilities necessary to execute against that strategy, to provide robust and appropriate solutions. All of this is achieved within a context of positive assurance ensuring activities are conducted in line with standards, policies and commercial targets.
About the Role
As a Power BI Developer within the Investments team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that provide actionable insights to drive investment strategies and decisions.
Key Responsibilities
4. Design and develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards
5. Transform raw data into meaningful insights through data modelling, DAX calculations, and visualisation techniques
6. Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
7. Develop and maintain ETL processes to streamline data flow into Power BI
8. Work closely with investment analysts, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver tailored BI solutions
9. Collaborate with the wider BI team to ensure alignment with overall BI strategy and best practices
10. Optimise Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and usability
11. Implement best practices for data visualisation and user experience
12. Provide training and support to business users on Power BI tools and functionalities
13. Assist users in developing their own reports and dashboards through self-service BI
14. Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and industry trends
15. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance BI solutions and processes
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
16. Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, preferably within the Investments sector
17. Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, and Power Query
18. Experience with SQL and data integration techniques
19. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
20. Strong communication and collaboration abilities
21. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
