The role
Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for someone who has been a key player in delivering technical solutions as part of large projects. We need experience with modern delivery models such as Scrum and other Agile methodologies. We want someone who advocates DevOps principles. We require experience working in a Microsoft Azure cloud-first team. We need experience with Azure DevOps. We require experience with MS Dynamics CRM and the Power Apps platform. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of architectural principles such as SOA and micro-services. We need strong technical aptitude. We need proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript. We require experience writing and implementing unit tests. Responsibilities: We design, code, configure, test, and document large, complex, or mission-critical applications in a cloud-first environment using Dynamics and Power Apps in Microsoft Azure. We configure and customise model-driven and canvas apps. We develop Power Automate flows through connectors to Dataverse and other data sources. We build Power Apps integrations with Azure components such as Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Functions. We work closely with test engineers to agree acceptance criteria, code base understanding, and test coverage. We collaborate with IT and stakeholders, share knowledge and expertise, and champion a culture of learning, development, collaboration, and teamwork. We proactively investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes, evaluate findings, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders. We identify and manage defects, incidents, risks, and issues in line with our standards. We work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver user-focused and successful digital services while adhering to governance standards. We help implement toolkits and APIs for integration, performance optimisation, security, and scalability. We explore innovative ways to solve problems in a fail-fast approach and embrace continuous improvement. We ensure team test and build activities follow agreed governance and processes. We apply HMG IA technical security controls in line with ISO 27001 and the Security Policy Framework. We provide project and delivery management support when required. We manage and delegate tasks effectively within the team. We take full responsibility for decisions and delivery. We drive our own training and self-development, keep our skills up to date, and learn new skills. We guide junior team members, coach and mentor colleagues, and share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team and business stakeholders. This role is based in our Newport office, with hybrid working arrangements currently expecting at least 20% onsite attendance. We offer a salary of £47,766, a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension contribution of £13,837, unlimited Pluralsight video learning access, access to Microsoft ESI training, hybrid working with no core hours, strong support for career progression, 25 days annual leave rising to 30 days in annual increments, plus 8 public leave days and 1 privilege leave day.
