About the role: There is an exciting opportunity to be part of the teams working with children and young people in our short break specialist provision. Wedgewood offers residential care and short break services across the whole of the Bradford Council district for children with additional needs. The main aims of the homes are to help children with disabilities to remain in their own home and community by providing social care support to the children and families. Your role would be to provide balanced meals in line with children’s needs across the service. This would include Some young people, due to their disabilities, may present behaviours that challenge and or have complex health needs requiring specialist additional training and support. The successful candidate: •Must have or able to work towards relevant food hygiene/catering qualification (see profile)•Ability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays•Be willing and able to undertake mandatory training and development as part of the role.•Ensure the environment is maintained within food hygiene standards.•Working as part of a disciplinary team considering the knowledge about children and dietary needs/choices from other professionals such as dieticians and key workers.•Interest in menu planning and knowledge of dietary needs.•Must be able to think creatively about food and its presentation to children with learning disabilities and food phobias.
