Principal Data Architect – Energy, Data Platforms, Snowflake, Azure Fabric£825 per day (Inside IR35)Primarily remote 3 - 6 months My client, a high-profile consultancy, urgently requires a Principal Data Architect to join a major Programme. This role will play a key part in delivering enterprise data architecture and supporting strategic data initiatives.Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Principal / Lead Data Architect inplex enterprise environments
2. Strong track record delivering end-to-end cloud data platforms (Snowflake and/or Azure Fabric)
3. Expertise in data modelling (dimensional, star/snowflake, 3NF) and ELT/ETL pipeline design
4. Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake (Snowpark, SnowPipe/Streaming, Dynamic Tables, Cortex, Unistore, optimisation, RBAC, warehouses, time travel, zero-copy cloning)
5. Broad experience across modern data platforms and tools (Snowflake, Fabric, Databricks, CosmosDB, MongoDB, RDBMS)
6. Experience with data integration (Matillion, Alteryx, Qlik), CDC/replication (Qlik Replicate, GoldenGate), and BI (Power BI)
7. Strong knowledge of APIs, messaging, and streaming data architectures
8. Solid experience in data security,ernance, and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, SoX, CNI)
9. Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL data architectures
10. Proven ability to troubleshootplex data pipelines and platform issues
11. Experience migrating data from diverse sources (RDBMS, SAP, Salesforce, GIS, PI Historian)
12. Exposure to Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI
13. Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration with BI/analytics teams
Nice to Have:
14. Experience within the Energy / Utilities sector
15. Hands-on experience with Azure ML or advanced analytics platforms
16. Prior involvement in large-scale data transformation or data strategy programmes
