As a Food Technologist within our Front-End Innovation team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of food experiences across our breakfast and snack portfolios. This 12-month fixed term contract offers the opportunity to transform emerging trends, consumer insights, and creative ideas into delicious, nutritious, and commercially viable product concepts.
Working at the intersection of food science, culinary creativity, and design thinking, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring bold, early-stage innovations to life.
Reporting to the R&D Leader for Front-End Innovation, you’ll be part of a close-knit team of three, operating across our Trafford Park pilot plant and Media City office on a hybrid schedule. The role also includes occasional national and international travel to support collaboration across sites and with external partners.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
* Concept Creation – Design and prototype new food concepts that excite consumers and meet brand, nutritional, and technical requirements.
* Early-Stage Development – Lead concept development through ideation, rapid prototyping, and sensory evaluation.
* Insight Translation – Turn consumer insights, trend data, and foresight into compelling product opportunities.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with marketing, insights, and nutrition teams to co-create holistic innovation concepts.
* Design Thinking – Apply creative experimentation to explore new formats, textures, and food experiences.
* Trend Monitoring – Stay informed on emerging ingredients, technologies, and food cultures to inspire innovation.
* Visual Communication – Clearly document and present concepts through visual storytelling, mock-ups, and engaging presentations.

* A strong technical background in food development, with hands-on industry experience.
* Experience in design-led innovation or front-end R&D.
* Creative problem-solving and prototyping skills.
* A passion for food and nutrition, with a curious and imaginative mindset.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
