Job Title: HR Officer
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Contract Type: Part-Time, Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day (start between 8:00 am and 10:00 am)
Hunters 4 Staff are partnering with a well-established, privately-owned business in Stoke-on-Trent with over 30 years of experience in machining, metal cutting, bending, welding, and painting. Known for quality service and continuous improvement, this company is looking for a part-time HR Officer to join their friendly, supportive team.
This is a varied, hands-on HR role where you’ll be the go-to person for all things people-related, supporting managers and employees while keeping HR processes running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
Manage recruitment from vetting to onboarding
Handle employee relations, disciplinary matters, and absence management
Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (Sage HR)
Support payroll, contracts, and right-to-work checks
Keep training and health & safety records up to date What we’re looking for:
Proven HR experience, ideally in a standalone or similar role
Strong knowledge of HR legislation and best practice
Confident using MS Office; experience with Sage HR is a bonus
Organised, approachable, and discreet
Comfortable handling recruitment, employee relations, and training records What we offer:
