Salary: Grade 6, £29,540 - £32,597 per annum.

37.5 hours per week, working full year

Meadowbank Primary and Nursery School is an excellent, oversubscribed, exciting, and inclusive mainstream primary school. A rare opportunity has arisen for dedicated Site Manager to join our school.

Site Manager

To be responsible for the management, Health & Safety of the school premises, site and associated facilities. To monitor the works of external contractors on site.

To open and close the site, ensuring the safety of all pupils and staff.

About the Role

This is a split hour’s role, 6.30am-10am & 2pm-6.00pm, all year round. 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

* To be responsible for ensuring the security of the school buildings and site
* To manage and arrange for regular security checks and risk assessments to be undertaken, advising on how risks can be minimised.
* To manage fire safety equipment provision and scheduling fire drills.
* To be responsible for contractors while on site and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
* To act as school health & safety supporting officer including proper accident reporting procedures.
* To anticipate future maintenance work and schedule repairs with outside contractors including negotiating the most effective use of resources.
* To be responsible for the day to day supervision cleaning staff and to identify any development and in training needs.
* Arrange, monitor and/or conduct regular health and safety checks e.g. fire alarms, water sprinklers, legionnaire testing reporting any problems to the appropriate person
* To operate and regularly check site systems e.g. of heating, cooling, lighting and security.
* Monitor and arrange for waste to be collected in line with the SLA.
* To contribute to and comply with the development of policies and procedures relating to health, safety security and buildings maintenance.
* To be the designated key holder and attend to call outs outside of normal working hours when required.
* To manage and account for the designated budget for domestic consumables and goods.
* To liaise with external contractors and LA as required.
* To plan and develop robust systems and procedures to record maintenance, building and security schedules providing reports to senior staff as required.
* To work closely with the School & Family Hub to manage the letting function within the site, including cover for out of school hours activities if required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

* NVQ Level 3 in relevant discipline (Caretaking, Cleaning,)
* NEBOSH
* Basic Health & Safety Certificate or willingness to work towards it.
* Desirable Qualities
* Experience of maintenance and security of buildings to a required standard
* Experience of monitoring budgets
* Experience of managing staff
* Experience of liaising and negotiating with external contractors.
