HR Manager (Standalone) - VANRATH Exclusive Opportunity VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, international organisation to recruit a standalone HR Manager supporting two UK entities (circa 40 employees). This is a unique opportunity for an experienced HR professional who thrives in an autonomous environment and enjoys taking full ownership of the HR function. You will play a pivotal role locally, balancing hands-on delivery with strategic input as part of the leadership team. The Role As the sole HR professional on site, you will be responsible for the full HR remit, acting as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters. This is a highly operational role requiring someone comfortable rolling up their sleeves while also contributing at a leadership level. Key Responsibilities Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and employee queries Oversee payroll processes in collaboration with Finance and external providers Act as the main HR contact for employees and managers Provide practical, hands-on guidance to managers on HR and employee relations matters Handle employee relations cases end-to-end Ensure compliance with UK employment law, internal policies, and reporting requirements Maintain HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and proper documentation Deliver and manage local performance management processes Administer employee benefits, including pensions Lead recruitment activity, including agency management and direct sourcing Track, analyse, and report on HR metrics Support employee engagement and labour relations initiatives Represent HR locally for audits, investigations, and hearings Partner with corporate HR to implement global initiatives at a local level Support health & safety activities as required The Person Degree in HR, Business, or a related discipline Minimum 5 years' experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a multinational environment Previous experience operating in a standalone or highly autonomous HR position Strong working knowledge of UK employment law (exposure to NI/Ireland advantageous) Comfortable managing both operational and administrative HR responsibilities Confident handling employee relations independently Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and deliver without close supervision Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Visio beneficial) For further information on this exclusive opportunity, please contact or call in confidence.
