We are looking for a dedicated and experienced
Head Cook
to lead the preparation of wholesome, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. This role is central to ensuring that our residents enjoy a high standard of food and dining experience every day.
As a Head Cook, you will need to be adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of our team are essential for delivering high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
The Role...
* Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, preferences, allergies, and medical requirements.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
* Manage and support a small kitchen team, providing guidance and ensuring high standards of food service.
* Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and maintain kitchen equipment.
* Maintain accurate records, including meal plans, temperature checks, and dietary notes.
* Work collaboratively with care staff and residents to gather feedback and continuously improve meal service.
* Support special functions and events as required.
Skills & Experience...
* Previous experience in a similar cooking role, ideally within a care or residential setting.
* Knowledge of dietary needs for older people and those with specific health conditions.
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards at all times.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Food Safety and Hygiene certification (Level 2 or above essential; Level 3/NVQ-3 or equivalent desirable).
* Physical stamina to work in a hot kitchen environment and carry out manual tasks.
