We are looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management System across our Pathology service. This is a key leadership role ensuring our laboratories meet ISO 15189 and all regulatory, accreditation and governance requirements.
Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities
* Manage and develop the Pathology Quality Management System.
* Lead the department through UKAS, HTA, MHRA and other inspections.
* Oversee risk management, incident processes and internal audit programmes.
* Support continuous improvement through KPI monitoring and data analysis.
* Line manage the Quality & Business Officers and provide expert guidance to clinical and managerial teams.
* Deliver QMS-related training and ensure documentation is controlled and up to date.
About You
* Relevant degree and qualification/experience in Quality Management.
* Experience with ISO standards and quality systems (ideally ISO 15189).
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to analyse data, manage competing priorities and drive improvement.
* NHS or healthcare experience is desirable.

Qualifications
* Relevant degree (Business or Healthcare Sciences/AHP/Nursing)
* Qualified in Quality Management (certified by the Chartered Quality Institute) or relevant experience
* Evidence of current Continued Professional Development activity in a relevant field, to masters level
* Recognised Health & Safety qualification or equivalent experience
* Member of the Chartered Quality Institute
* Registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and other relevant professional bodies, as applicable.
Experience
* Experience in a lead/managerial role.
* Experience for responsibility of Key Performance Indicators, data and reports relating to service quality and performance.
* Experience of implementing ISO 15189 and/or other relevant ISO standards.
* Experience of managing and implementing a significant programme of change or service development.
* Excellent level of computer skills and literacy.
* Significant experience in delivering high quality training to all staffing groups.
* Auditing experience.
* Experience within the NHS or healthcare-related industry/service.
* Experience of resource management with a demonstrable understanding of budget management.
Skills
* Self‑motivated and highly organised, and the ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and pressures (e.g. assessments and deadlines).
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support others and to act as an effective role model.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant national legislation and guidelines.
* Highly competent on a range of digital platforms and systems (e.g. DCIQ, Quality Management, e‑searcher).
* Sound statistical and data analysis skills with ability to collate and present information in an interpretable way.
* Extensive knowledge of data protection, Freedom of Information, and other governing regulations applicable to role.
