Role Overview
As a Supply Chain Quality Manager (SCQM) and member of a Multi‑Functional Team (MFT), you will be the primary interface with nominated suppliers and responsible for managing the purchase phase of the supply chain core process. Your role ensures that hardware is delivered to projects on time, on cost, and meets all performance and quality requirements, while building an open and trustful relationship with suppliers’ employees and management.
Responsibilities
- International travel (approximately 1 week per month)
- Deliver hardware on time, quality, and within cost targets
- Day‑to‑day contact with suppliers and manage contract implementation across multiple projects
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to the Project Supply Manager and facilitate technical interactions between the project team and suppliers
- Acquire in‑depth knowledge of suppliers to enable effective control and improvement
- Identify risks, propose mitigation actions, and ensure their implementation
- Lead quality responsibilities for equipment qualification and design reviews, including EQSR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, TRB/SRB, and DRB
- Manage Non‑Conformity Reports (NCR) and Request For Waiver/Deviation (RFW/D) and chair the Non‑Conformance Report Board (NRB)
- Serve as the quality interface for Manufacturing Inspection Points (MIP), Electrical Electronic Equipment (EEE), and Material & Process (M&P)
- Support quality audits and assessments as required
- Complete annual supplier evaluations with appropriate support
- Represent procurement post‑contract signature within the MFT, accountable for supplier performance and Airbus procurement processes
- Support staff with flexible working arrangements and assist with accommodation for any disability or long‑term condition under the Equality Act 2010
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, engineering, quality or manufacturing
- Strong ability to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, empathy, negotiation, and the ability to influence and persuade
- Proficiency in procurement IT tools; APQP knowledge is a benefit
- Strong relationship building, team building, conflict management, and motivation skills
- Negotiation level of English
