Overview
We are seeking an experienced developer to join our team. You will play a critical role in building and maintaining integrations with insurers, telematics providers, and customer platforms, as well as developing automation that streamlines policy administration, quoting and customer communication. This role is central to our digital strategy of enhancing customer experience and enabling data-driven insurance products.
Responsibilities
* API Development & Integration: Build and maintain APIs to connect with insurer systems, telematics platforms, and internal applications.
* Develop secure integrations for policy quoting, renewals, mid-term adjustments (MTAs) and telematics-driven insurance products.
* Integrate data from telematics devices and mobile apps (e.g. driver behaviour, mileage tracking, accident detection) into broker and insurer platforms.
* Work closely with broker software providers (Open GI) and telematics partners to ensure seamless interoperability.
* Build real time pricing models using inhouse systems to achieve competitive edge.
Automation & Workflow Engineering
* Automate manual processes such as quote distribution, policy document generation, compliance checks and telematics data ingestion.
* Implement workflow automation across CRM, telephony, email, customer portals, and telematics dashboards.
* Streamline reporting and regulatory submissions (FCA compliance, MID, GDPR) using automation solutions.
Telematics Solutions
* Work with telematics data providers and IoT platforms to capture, process, and integrate driving behaviour data.
* Build data pipelines to enrich underwriting and pricing with telematics insights.
* Support the development of usage-based insurance (UBI).
Technical Excellence
* Deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR, data privacy, and insurance security standards.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve integrations and workflows.
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in developing and consuming APIs (REST, SOAP).
* Experience with telematics platforms, IoT data integration, or real-time data pipelines.
* Experience with workflow/automation tools (Zapier, Power Automate, n8n, UiPath, or custom-built solutions).
* Knowledge of SQL databases.
* Strong grounding in software security and GDPR compliance.
* Previous experience in insurance or telematics-focused industries.
* Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) standards used in insurance.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
* Exposure to data science or analytics applied to telematics datasets.
* Network & Security experience would be an advantage.
