Job Description
CEN Resources are working in partnership with a well-known business that is currently looking for an experienced Senior Quality Manager for operations based in the North West of England. Our client is an Engineering and Projects Delivery business specializing in the design, installation, management, and consultancy of bulk material handling systems across various sectors, with specific expertise in tunneling, aggregates, and ports.
Reporting to the Group Projects Director, the Senior Quality Manager ensures all operational departments adhere to company systems, policies, and procedures, maintaining compliance with accredited ISO standards and other relevant industry certifications on an ongoing basis.
Applicants must have experience with EPC projects within an onshore engineering industry.
Responsibilities
1. Provide input and support during proposals in the bid and pre-contract stages.
2. Review quality and process requirements pre-contract to ensure specific quality-related deliverables are met.
3. Support the development of existing and new suppliers through auditing, accurately recording and reporting NCRs, tracking total quality costs, and driving continuous improvement activities.
4. Collaborate with and support Project Managers during project kick-off meetings and ongoing progress meetings, whether internal or external.
5. Own and manage the Quality Management System.
6. Manage and maintain the business-level risk register.
7. Develop quality assurance plans throughout the project lifecycle as required.
8. Review contractors' and suppliers' Quality Plans and related documentation to ensure quality requirements are managed effectively through the supply chain.
9. Manage and lead investigations into quality-related incidents, policies, processes, or project issues.
10. Develop a Quality Status Report at both project and business levels, issued monthly.
11. Collaborate with the Project Manager to log and respond to all quality-related issues and actions promptly.
Education/Experience
* Experienced Quality Professional within a project-based construction environment, including CDM.
* HNC/HND qualification in a quality, technical, or engineering discipline.
* Formal audit training in ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor (or equivalent).
* Demonstrable experience managing internal quality systems for medium to large organizations, preferably with cloud-based systems.
* Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong IT skills, including the full MS Office Suite.
