Purpose of the Role
The Junior HR Administrator will provide administrative support to the HR department, ensuring that employee records, recruitment processes, and compliance requirements are maintained to a high standard. This is an entry-level role, ideal for a school leaver or someone seeking to start a career in Human Resources. The successful candidate will receive training and development opportunities to gain knowledge of HR best practice, employment law, and organisational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide general administrative support to the HR team and HR Manager.
* Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
* Assist with the recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer letters.
* Support the onboarding process for new starters, including reference checks, contracts, and induction paperwork.
* Assist in monitoring staff absences, holidays, and sickness records in line with company procedures and ACAS guidance.
* Prepare HR letters, documents, and reports as required.
* Respond to routine employee queries in a professional and timely manner, escalating where appropriate.
* Support the coordination of training and development activities.
* Ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety regulations.
* Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as required.
Person Specification
Essential
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient in GoogleWorkspace (Sheets / Docs).
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
* Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong interest in Human Resources.
* Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative when required.
Desirable
* Previous administrative experience (work placement, part-time role, or school/college project work).
* Knowledge of HR processes or employment law (training will be provided).
* Experience of using HR or data management systems (training will be provided).
