Are you a passionate and skilled Cook looking for a new challenge? We are on the lookout for a experienced Cook to join our Care Team in our Biggar Care Home. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and support, and we believe that great food is an integral part of this experience. As a Cook at the Care Home, you will play a vital role in creating nutritious and delicious meals that cater to the diverse needs of our residents. Your culinary skills will not only nourish our residents but also enhance their quality of life.
Working in a Care Home as a Cook can be a challenging, however, a very rewarding role to undertake. Whilst you still have the challenge of ensuring the food you prepare is of a high standard, the hours of work are more sociable and allows you to have a better “work, life balance”. You will need to know how to adapt meals to make them suitable for residents with different dietary needs and be skilled at creating healthy balanced meals for everyone. You will be aware and responsible for ensuring that good nutritional meals are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As well as preparing and cooking meals you may be responsible for managing and ordering the supplies, menu creation and ensuring the kitchen and equipment meets all health and safety requirements.
Ideally, you should have some previous experience working within a Care Home or in a commercial kitchen with an SVQ/ NVQ qualification in food preparation or cooking.
