Job Title: Learning Mentor
Contract: Temporary, Full-time

About the Role
We are seeking a committed and proactive Learning Mentor to join our Inclusion Service on a temporary basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people who face barriers to education.
The post holder will promote positive educational outcomes and engagement, particularly for:
Young people in Year 12 and 13 who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
Children and young people with SEND
Pupils with wider vulnerabilitiesYou will work closely with schools, colleges, families and internal teams to ensure learners are supported to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Work under the direction of the Inclusion Lead, managing and maintaining accurate information across corporate systems.
Record, monitor and track pupil progress, attendance and engagement data.
Work directly with teachers and educational settings to:
Support transitions between settings
Encourage good attendance
Strengthening pupil engagement in learning
Collaborate with locality teams and education providers to develop and deliver tailored intervention plans.
Provide targeted academic, social and emotional support to pupils.
Act as a decision-maker in specific contexts regarding the allocation of funding.
Prepare pupils for successful learning in both mainstream and specialist environments.
Ensure pupils are aware of available educational and vocational opportunities.About You
Has experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEND or vulnerabilities.
Has a strong understanding of the challenges faced by NEET young people.
Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
Is highly organised and confident in managing data and records.
Is resilient, empathetic and motivated to improve educational outcomes.
