Offer description

Are you an experienced and dynamic senior leader with a strong track record in behaviour and attitudes? Are you ready to play a key strategic role in a thriving, inclusive, and ambitious secondary school? If so, we would love to hear from you.

The role would initial start as an interim/fixed term post. Opportunities of permanent position will be open in the future.

We are a progressive and forward-thinking 11–16 comprehensive school located in Havering. As a popular and oversubscribed school, we pride ourselves on our inclusive ethos, strong community ties, and unwavering commitment to high standards for every student.

Following a recent Ofsted inspection with a positive outcome, we still have the capacity and drive for further improvement. With our school on track for its best-ever academic results, we are seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour and Attitudes to join our Senior Leadership Team from January 2025.

The Role

This is a key leadership position with whole-school responsibility for behaviour, attitudes, and the strategic development of our school culture. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that all students thrive in a calm, respectful, and aspirational environment. You will also contribute to the wider leadership and development of the school in line with our ongoing school improvement priorities.

We are looking for a leader who:

Has a proven record of senior leadership with significant impact on behaviour and culture at a whole-school level.

Is passionate about student wellbeing, inclusion, and personal development.

Can think and plan strategically, communicate with clarity, and inspire confidence in staff, students, and families alike.

Thrives on building strong relationships with young people and is deeply committed to their success.

Can lead and manage staff with purpose, compassion, and high expectations.

Has the resilience, vision, and creativity to help take the school from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’.

Is committed to continuous improvement—for both people and systems.

Is an excellent classroom practitioner and committed to modelling high-quality teaching and learning.

As part of your role, you will also have teaching responsibilities and be expected to actively contribute to the life of the school. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking leader to shape the next chapter of our journey.

Why join us?

A strong and supportive Senior Leadership Team committed to diversity and inclusion.

Engaged, respectful students and a positive school culture.

A clear and ambitious vision for school improvement.

A collaborative, values-driven working environment.

If you’re ready to make a real impact and help lead our school community to even greater success, we encourage you to apply.

To apply, please send your CV with references. Support is available for candidates without an updated CV through informal discussions.

For enquiries, contact hr (at) beeteacher (dot) com or call (phone number removed).
