The Role
As a Mainframe developer you will be working closely with the technical team and working on the development and implementation journeys. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high performance applications which include technologies like COBOL, CICS webservices and others to support critical business processes.
Your responsibilities: (Up to 10, Avoid repetition)
Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer or similar role
Strong knowledge of programming languages, including CICS webservices, COBOL, JCL, and SQL
Experience with IBM mainframe systems and tools
Good understanding of software development lifecycle
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience: (Up to 10, Avoid repetition)
Experience working in ZOS connect EE and DB2 Rest and extensive knowledge in CICS webservices
Development experience using FileAid, Xpeditor, IBM explorer for ZOS, Visual studio
Proficient with SOAP, WSDL and JSON. A comprehensive understanding of SOA and Restful APIs
Experience of working with code repositories, bug tracking tools and wikis Tools - Gitlab, Endevor, JIRA, Confluence
Knowledge of different security integration patterns such as basic authentication, client authentication (MATLS) and Oauth(JWT)
Experience of DevOps and Agile methodology and associated toolsets and methodologies CICD practices, Jenkins.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience: (As applicable)
Java skill set
Strong foundation in Java including OOP, functional programming (java 8+)
Familiarity with Spring Boot's annotations, configuration, and how it simplifies Spring application setup and deployment.
Restful API development experience
Or/and
Hands-on experience using DataPower appliances
Development experience using XSLT, Gateway Script and XPath
