This is a hands on, outdoor role where you’ll play an important part in maintaining urban drainage systems, waterbodies and public environments to a high standard. About the Role: In this role you will carry out a range of agreed contract works and manual laboring duties, with a strong focus on urban drainage maintenance. You will work as part of a team and follow direction from the Contract Supervisor or Team Leader to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include: Inspection and electronic reporting of urban drains and waterbodies Litter and debris collection and disposal Identification and removal of aquatic weeds Weed spraying and vegetation maintenance Inspection and clearance of inlet and outlet structures General environmental and manual labouring tasks as required Operating vehicles, plant and equipment safely and legally Accurate record keeping, including timesheets and reporting Actively contributing to a safe, positive and professional team environment What you need to succeed: Full, clean Class 1 Driver Licence Physically fit and capable of completing manual labouring tasks Experience in environmental labouring, gardening, spraying or similar outdoor work Ability to follow instructions and meet work quality expectations A strong work ethic and team-first attitude Desirable: W, T, R and/or D endorsements Growsafe (NZS 8409) – Management of Agrichemicals Certificate National Certificate in Horticulture or similar TMC experience Knowledge of pest plants and aquatic weeds What's on Offer: All permanent and fixed-term employees automatically qualify for Cigna Life Insurance cover.
