Situated on the Prees Branch of the Llangollen Canal and adjacent to Fenn's, Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve, the marina sits within a protected area of outstanding natural beauty. Home to over 150 modern berths for both leisure and residential moorers, the marina offers a welcoming environment for canal enthusiasts and holidaymakers alike. The site offers a range of distinctive holiday accommodation, including shepherd's huts and lodges, alongside its own canal boat hire, Pea Green Boats. The on-site café is a vibrant hub offering homemade food and refreshments seven days a week, alongside hosting monthly late-night openings, for the surrounding community.
We are recruiting a Marina Site Manager to manage and oversee all activities at Whixall Marina. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, across 5 out of 7 days, including weekends. There will also be a requirement for additional on call duties. This is an operational, hands-on role, as well as being the key focal point for customer service and having responsibility across the site.
What will the role involve?
* Manage all day-to-day operations of the marina, ensuring safe and efficient running of all onsite teams and activities.
* Ensure all marina facilities, grounds, boats and equipment are maintained to high standard.
* Manage and directly support all onsite employees, including staff rotas, sickness and absence.
* Co-ordinate and actively manage all activities in relation to the holiday accommodation, café and marina waterside.
* Own the customer experience for all visitors, moorers, and holiday guests.
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities onsite in relation to revenue and waste management strategies.
* Work closely with Directors, Head Office and external partners to support wider business objectives and growth opportunities.
