Job Summary: The Solar Panel Installation Labourer will provide essential support to our skilled Solar PV Installers and Roofers, assisting with all aspects of solar panel installation projects. This entry-level position is crucial for ensuring efficient and safe project execution, from site preparation to system completion. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess a strong work ethic, and be comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Preparation and Material Handling: Assist with the loading, unloading, and organized staging of solar panels, mounting equipment, tools, and other materials at job sites.[1] This includes ensuring all necessary components are readily available for installers.
* Groundwork and Support: Prepare ground-mounted solar array sites, including digging trenches for cabling and assisting with the assembly of ground-mount structures.
* Roof Access and Safety: Aid in setting up ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment safely, adhering strictly to all health and safety protocols, especially when working at heights.
* Installation Assistance: Support Solar PV Installers by passing tools, securing components, and performing basic assembly tasks as directed. This may involve helping to position panels and attach mounting hardware.
* Cable Management: Assist with the routing and securing of electrical cabling under the supervision of qualified electricians or installers.
* Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the installation process and ensure thorough cleanup of the site upon project completion.
* Tool Maintenance: Assist with the cleaning and proper storage of tools and equipment.
* Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and following instructions from lead installers and project managers.
* Adherence to Standards: Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices to ensure high-quality installations and a safe working environment.

* Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 25 kg), bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.[2]

* Basic understanding of hand and power tools commonly used in construction.
* A Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is advantageous for working on construction sites.[2]
