Role overview

As the Head of People and Culture, you will be the driving force behind creating an exceptional workplace culture across our collection of luxury hotels. You will lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, foster positive work environment, and ensure that our team members are motivated and aligned with our brand's values and goals. You will also play a crucial role in establishing foundational HR practices and building a strong organisational culture from the ground up.

Working closely with Hotel General Managers and Property Manager, you will form part of the Operational Leadership Team. You will also be keen to travel, as this role is hands on and requires UK travel between hotel locations.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Employee Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to boost employee morale and engagement. Overseeing recognition programs and hold regular feedback sessions with GMs.
* Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment process to attract top talent, seeking out new markets to attract high calibre colleagues. Ensure new starts into the business are effectively onboarded through an effective welcome programme and integrated into the company culture.
* Training and Development: Design, deliver and over-view training programmes to enhance employee skills and career development. Promote continuous learning and professional growth.
* Performance Management: Work with operational head of departments to ensure robust performance appraisal systems are in place and provide guidance to managers on effective performance management practices.
* Employee Relations: Address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace environment.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies whilst maintaining accurate employee records and handle HR-related documentation.
* Culture Building: Champion the company's values and culture. Lead initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.
* HR Strategy: Collaborate with Head of Operations to align HR strategies with business objectives. Provide insights and recommendations on HR-related matters.
* Team Management: Manage a niche team to help deliver on the future HR strategies.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
* CIPD qualified is desirable
* Experience in a People and Culture or HR leadership role, preferably within 5* luxury hotels
* Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and best practices
* Experience in establishing HR practices in a new business or startup environment
* Strong change management skills and the ability to lead through periods of growth and transformation
