Job Title: Site Manager Location: Thetford / Bury St Edmunds (Wider Anglian Water Region) Sectors: Enabling Works, Water, Utilities, Infrastructure, AMP8, Civil Engineering Job Type: Permanent role Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 Per Annum (Salary Not Set / Negotiable on relevant experience) We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee enabling works packages for a major water infrastructure project in the Anglian region, managing smaller sites through design, early consent, planning and enabling/early construction phases. The role is critical in preparing the site to enable the commencement of main construction works to commence and you will be responsible for managing key site activities including but not limited to: ecology surveys, archaeological investigations and trial trenching, ground investigations, engineering and environmental surveys, as well as the mobilisation and management of temporary enabling and construction phase works compounds. You will ensure that all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining high levels of labour motivation. Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality responsibilities are paramount, including the management of documentation and outputs. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Daily duties will include but are not limited to: Site management of enabling and early construction works Ecology, archaeological, ground, engineering, and environmental survey management Mobilisation and management of temporary compounds Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality compliance Labour motivation and team leadership Cost and programme management Production and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) Strong communication and stakeholder management Documentation control and reporting Applicable candidates will ideally: Have delivered similar enabling works projects previously (Ideally £100k and £10m) Have work on large infrastructure projects within the Water or wider Infrastructure sector Have sound construction knowledge able to deliver projects safely, including creation and monitoring of RAMS Hold an SMSTS Certificate Hold a CSCS Card – essential Hold a First Aid Certificate For more information or to apply for the role, please contact Tim Smyth on (phone number removed)
