About the role
Yewstock School is an Outstanding all-age Special School (3-19 years) for pupils with complex learning needs.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Site Manager to ensure our school remains safe, well-maintained, and operates smoothly. You will play a key role in creating a safe and happy environment for our pupils. This is a full-time position, with flexible hours considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing daily repairs and maintenance
* Overseeing larger site projects and planning ongoing upkeep
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and conducting risk assessments
* Collaborating with the School Business Manager to optimize site costs
* Managing contractors and cleaning staff
* Acting as the main key holder and supporting school security
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming site and grounds
Candidate requirements:
* Experience with health and safety protocols
* Ability to prioritize, reliability, and flexibility
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Clear communication skills with staff, visitors, and contractors
* Adherence to school policies to ensure safety
* Basic DIY skills; experience in trades like plumbing, painting, or carpentry is a plus
* Budget management and record-keeping skills
* Proficiency in email, Word, and basic computer applications

The salary is pro-rata based on hours and weeks worked, including paid leave and holidays, paid in monthly installments, adjusted for part-time hours if applicable.

As part of safeguarding procedures, the school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates to assess suitability to work with children, with impartial personnel conducting these searches to avoid bias.
