Site Manager - Abbots Langley - Hertfordshire is a leading residential developer seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a major new build housing scheme in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire.
The project is a significant residential development delivering circa 190 new homes, including a mix of private sale and affordable housing, with associated infrastructure, public open space, landscaping and new access works. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with strong traditional build housing experience to join a well‑established developer on a long‑term scheme.
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Contracts Manager.
* Supporting day‑to‑day running of the scheme.
* Providing clear direction to the on‑site construction team regarding responsibilities and targets.
* Managing day‑to‑day operations from piling – foundation to completion, and the critical paths for labour, materials and plant, including material lead times.
* Ensuring the development is completed in accordance with specification and the build programme.
* Providing accurate and regular reports on progress and dates.
* Controlling additional costs for non‑productive costs and prelim expenditure.
* Driving through quality at every stage of the construction process.
* Ensuring the development passes internal and external inspection processes.
* Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are followed and adhered to.
* Taking responsibility for self‑development and the development of others.
* Monitoring and controlling the quality of production and approving stage completions to payments to subcontractors.
* Ensuring customer service always remains of the highest priority with everyone on site.
Qualifications
* Must have experience of working as a Site Manager, No1 on traditional build housing schemes.
* Full knowledge of build regulations.
* Experience of being part of an NHBC/LABC Award‑winning team.
* Experience of working as part of a full production team.
* Hold construction qualifications including First Aid, Scaffold awareness.
