About Us
Westbank is an award-winning Devon-based charity, established in 1986. From our Community Care and Healthy Living Centre in Exminster, we deliver a wide range of health and wellbeing services including Devon Carers, a community gym with specialist disabled-access equipment, Kidzone childcare, a Community Cookery School, a community larder, and more.
The Role
This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in the fitness industry. You’ll work alongside experienced instructors to support a diverse range of clients – from those returning to activity after ill-health, to people with physical challenges, and those looking to improve their fitness.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in:
1. Supporting gym inductions and health & safety briefings
2. Delivering group classes and exercise programmes
3. Encouraging and guiding clients on the gym floor
4. Helping with day-to-day operations and administration
5. Learning to design and adapt fitness programmes
6. Working towards a nationally recognised fitness qualification (Level 3 Gym Instructor)

We’re looking for someone who is:
7. Friendly, approachable and motivated to help others
8. Level 2 qualified wanting to work toward Level 3 Gym Instructor
9. Reliable, proactive and eager to learn
