Job Title: HR Manager Salary/Grade: £53,288 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience) Location : Larne Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Up to 18% bonus Car allowance - £500pcm Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution up to 6% Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution. Optional flexible benefits including access to health and dental care plans, EV car lease, holiday purchase. This position requires a 4.5-day-a-week schedule in the office. The opportunity Are you an experienced HR professional who has the desire to lead an experienced team of HR Partners and Generalists? You could have that opportunity to achieve that at our facility in Larne, Northern Ireland. This role fits within Caterpillar's Electric Power Division (EPD). In this role you play an integral role leading and implementing HR strategies aligned with our business objectives, providing guidance on HR policies and practices, and foster a culture of employee engagement and development. What you will do: Collaborate with management as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize HR initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. Align HR policies and programs for their business unit or region which promote employee engagement, retention, and performance. Act as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation, and benefits, etc. Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations to senior management. Lead a team of HR professionals to collaborate effectively with other Centers of Excellence and serve as thought leaders to the business and HR. What you have (basic qualifications): Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes, with the ability to develop HR strategies that engage others in setting, embracing and achieving organizational objectives. Ability to apply multiple leadership styles to meet evolving team needs and support employee development. Proven capability to use positive reinforcement and coaching techniques to motivate employees, drive desired behaviors, and enhance team productivity. Ability to apply performance management feedback and principles to help develop team capability. Strong leadership attributes, including integrity, confidence, persistence, and sound judgment, with the ability to apply leadership theories (e.g., contingency and transactional) to guide effective decision-making and manage interactions such as feedback conversations. Business Acumen: Designs the organization's planning processes and decision-making channels. Demonstrates a big picture understanding of the business, its interrelationships, and priorities. Demonstrates strong foundation of business fundamentals, measurement, and business finance. Ability to explain the advantages and risks of using business simulations for critical business decisions. Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Applies an assigned technique for critical thinking in a decision-making process. Ability to identify, gather and organize relevant data, ideas, and information to inform decisions. Experience documenting key inputs-including data, stakeholders, processes, and considerations-to support transparent and consistent decision-making. Proven capability to recognize, clarify, and prioritize concerns while assessing risks, benefits, and alternative solutions. Influencing: Demonstrated knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies, with the ability to impact decisions within and outside the organization. Ability to use active listening and probing techniques to uncover opportunities to influence outcomes. Proven capability to identify key decision makers and tailor communication to how they best receive information. Experience presenting ideas and recommendations in persuasive terms that support organizational goals. Employee Relations: Knowledge of employee rights and obligations, with the ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations. Ability to consult managers on effective employee relations practices, strategies, and issue-resolution approaches. Experience monitoring employee relations benchmarks such as satisfaction, retention, and turnover to identify trends and areas for improvement. Demonstrated ability to guide others on employee relations functions-including grievances, performance issues, and disciplinary actions-and to evaluate and update related practices. Knowledge of union practices and principles Talent Management: Demonstrated knowledge of how an organization attracts, recruits, retains, identifies, and develops talent to meet short- and long-term business goals. Ability to coordinate reward and recognition programs designed to retain high-performing and high-potential employees. Experience assessing organizational competencies, analyzing talent development needs, and maintaining visibility to high-potential employees. What will put you ahead (preferred qualifications): University Degree preferred Knowledge or experience with internal communications Demonstrated knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.
