Job description
We are looking for an office based Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our small but expanding Accountancy business, which specialises in providing a friendly, flexible and proactive all year-round service to small businesses and individuals in the local areas. In addition to maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a range of clients, you will also be required to provide administrative support to the practice. This includes helping to complete the admin side of onboarding clients, contacting clients when work is due and managing records received. The post holder will be required to work flexibly, as part of a small friendly team environment and will assist other staff on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities
* Answer telephone calls and reception enquiries in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner and accurately log information on all calls received, make and record accurately client appointments, arrange meetings, set up and maintain filing systems
* General bookkeeping duties include:- Double entry bookkeeping, processing sales invoices; receipts and payments, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, reconciling supplier and debtor accounts, helping prepare P&L accounts and balance sheets
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Minimum two years of relevant previous experience
* Experience of undertaking administrative tasks within an office environment
* Experience within a professional services organisation (accountants, solicitors, etc) would be a distinct advantage
Desirable Skills
* Accounting Technician qualification
* Experience in preparation and submission of accounts and VAT returns
