The Role:
We are looking for a talented and experienced RICS qualified property professional, to lead the Council’s Estates and Property Review Service. Ideally the successful candidate will have a background working within the public sector, with a demonstrable understanding of the challenges faced by local government.
The Council’s Head of Estate & Property Review is the head of profession for all asset management, estates management and valuation services in the Council.
This role requires a motivated and enthusiastic individual, to lead and develop the Council’s estates management team, which includes the Council’s managed office portfolio: Connect Derby, with purpose and drive.
In addition to leading the Estates & Property Review Service, this individual will play a key role in the Council’s ambitious programme of major regeneration projects and housing development in the city, working within multi-disciplinary teams and providing strategic property advice across a wide range of projects and initiatives.
Asset rationalisation is a key programme in the Council’s change and transformation work; the Head of Estate & Property Review will play a pivotal role in delivery of this Programme, ensuring colleagues and partners can deliver their services effectively from fit for purpose accommodation, whilst generating revenue savings, raising capital receipts and reducing carbon emissions.

This role sits within the Corporate Governance, Property and Procurement Directorate. The Directorate comprises Legal, Insurance & Information Governance, Procurement, Democracy & Elections, Property & Consultancy Services and Estates & Property Review and you would be joining a supportive network of Heads of Service both within the Directorate and across the wider Council.
