Introduction
Our client is a well-established manufacturing company based in Andover, specializing in the design and production of protection equipment for the Military, Police, and Security sector. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join their team as a Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the Quality system daily and measure Quality Performance internally, with customers and suppliers.
* Take ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS) and lead the quality team to ensure best-practice quality across the company.
* Improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of manufacturing processes and the supply chain by liaising with staff, management, customers, and suppliers.
* Coordinate and implement improvements to the quality management system to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards.
* Maintain effective corrective actions and methods.
* Work with leadership to ensure departments and individuals impacting quality are trained and skilled appropriately.
* Develop and drive internal, supplier, and third-party quality system audits.
* Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Design & Engineering on supplier quality management.
* Assess supplier capabilities and monitor supplier quality to ensure performance standards are met and maintained.
* Work closely with Design Engineering on new product development and design changes to ensure quality conformance and suggest improvements.
* Implement new product introduction (NPI) processes into company procedures.
* Conduct inspections of production, processes, and quality programs within the national and international supply chain.
* Monitor and report on company and suppliers' Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Profile
* Knowledge and experience with manufacturing, inspection, and quality standards.
* Background in quality management and familiarity with ISO9001:2015, ISO 14001.
* At least 4 years' experience in a Quality role.
* Fully conversant with manufacturing drawings.
* Experience with a wide range of materials and manufacturing techniques.
* Experience in international manufacturing environments.
* Experience working in small to mid-sized companies.
* H&S management experience and within an H&S role.
