Job Overview
Regional Quality Manager required for a Tier 1 contractor based in Berkshire. The company is one of the most successful privately owned contractors in the country, with Southern operations near Reading and an annual turnover exceeding GBP 1 billion.
Project Types
The company targets schemes between GBP 20 million and GBP 90 million, including frameworks and long-term client projects. They also undertake single-stage regeneration and development schemes up to GBP 150 million, such as large schools, multi-phase education projects, student accommodation, PRS developments, high-rise offices and residences, distribution hubs, and large retail and leisure developments.
Role Responsibilities
1. Provide quality and systems support throughout all project phases: bid, preconstruction, on-site delivery, commissioning, defect, and warranty periods.
2. Manage the company's quality plan, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, external manufacturer requirements, and supply chain quality systems.
3. Audit on-site quality with delivery teams and subcontractors, maintaining NCR registers and reporting procedures.
4. Update and maintain regional quality plans, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and industry benchmarks.
5. Investigate latent defects and compliance issues to support continuous improvement strategies.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates have a QA/Inspection background in construction or are construction professionals such as project or site managers with a keen interest in quality and continuous improvement practices.
