We’re looking for a dynamic sales leader who thrives on challenge and growth, someone who can open doors, build lasting client relationships, and help guide the business through the next stage of growth.

This role will play a critical part in accelerating Nero Energy’s commercial growth and deepening our impact across the UK’s public and corporate sustainability agendas. You’ll bring a blend of strategic vision, sector credibility, and technical sales acumen, with the ability to navigate both corporate boardrooms and public procurement environments.

As Head of Sales at Nero Energy, you will take a lead role in shaping and delivering our commercial growth strategy as we scale from a boutique £1.2m consultancy to a £10m market leader in renewable energy and construction management. This role combines strategic sales leadership, business development, and market insight to drive sustainable revenue across the corporate and public sectors.

You will lead our go-to-market approach, working closely with internal stakeholders across delivery, advisory, and marketing to align commercial activity with client needs and policy shifts.

Drawing on deep sector knowledge and strong consultative sales experience, you’ll identify and secure high-value opportunities, build long-term client partnerships, and position Nero as a trusted advisor in energy and sustainability transformation.


Commercial Growth & Sales Leadership

Design and execute a multi-year sales strategy aligned with Nero Energy’s growth ambitions, revenue targets, and sector priorities.
Own the full sales lifecycle — from lead generation to deal closure — for strategic accounts across both public and corporate sectors.
Identify and pursue new markets, framework agreements, and key account opportunities in renewable energy, sustainability, and infrastructure.
Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing sales function, fostering a culture of accountability, client focus, and excellence.

Cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships with decision-makers in the education sector, government bodies, local authorities, housing associations, and corporates.
Sales Operations & Performance Management

Lead sales forecasting, pipeline development, bid prioritisation, and reporting processes to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
Collaborate with delivery and project leads to ensure successful handover, resourcing, and execution of secured contracts.
Maintain and optimise CRM systems, commercial reporting tools, and performance dashboards.

Contribute to annual planning, board reporting, and investment cases as part of the senior leadership team.

Monitor policy and regulatory changes to anticipate opportunities and risks in the energy and construction consultancy landscape.


5+ years’ experience in senior sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles.
· Skilled in complex sales cycles, public procurement, and high-value advisory engagements.
· Experience leading and growing high-performing sales teams and working cross-functionally at leadership level.
· Degree-level education in a relevant field (e.g. business, engineering, sustainability) is preferred but not essential.
