You’ll be responsible for the design and development of algorithms to support pricing strategy and the subsequent deployment to ‘live’ production environments to ensure the business meets its financial targets. We are looking for a Pricing Development Manager to join the heart of NFU Mutual’s pricing function, leading an agile squad responsible for building and deploying pricing algorithms. This role combines technical expertise with coaching, stakeholder engagement across the business, and project delivery responsibilities. You will support the team in delivering high-quality pricing solutions while building capability across colleagues. With a strong emphasis on leadership, coordination and quality assurance, you’ll oversee the end-to-end delivery of pricing algorithm designs. You’ll manage a small team of specialists, setting direction, prioritising work and ensuring outputs meet customer, business and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage the design and implementation of pricing algorithms for deployment into live rating environments Lead, motivate and develop a team of direct reports, creating an engaged and high-performing working environment Review and assure code produced by the team to ensure accuracy, stability and suitability for live customer rating Control the quality of team output through proportionate testing, protecting live pricing systems from errors Plan, delegate and manage day-to-day workflow to ensure timely and high-quality delivery Manage the team’s contribution across Underwriting and Pricing teams, including planning, delivery, issue resolution and post-deployment support Liaise with stakeholders across Pricing, Underwriting, IT, Sales and Agency to coordinate delivery and share information Represent the Design & Deployment team in meetings and deputise for the Design & Deployment Manager when required Undertake and oversee Radar coding activity where necessary to support delivery of robust pricing solutions Contribute to governance, audit and assurance activities as required Keep up to date with industry trends and technology developments to drive continuous improvement in tools, processes and methodologies About youYou’ll bring strong technical pricing development knowledge alongside proven leadership capability within a pricing, analytical or technical development environment. Comfortable working in a fast-paced delivery setting, you’ll be confident supporting the end-to-end development and deployment of pricing solutions while maintaining high standards of quality, governance and customer outcome focus. You’ll also be a collaborative and engaging communicator, able to build strong relationships across both technical and non-technical teams. With strong organisational skills and a continuous improvement mindset, you’ll be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, supporting change initiatives and helping colleagues develop and succeed. You’ll also have experience of: Leading, motivating and developing teams, including coaching, feedback, workflow management and delivery planning Designing, developing and deploying pricing algorithms within live production environments, including awareness of pricing system risk and external rating engine integration Using RADAR (or equivalent procedural programming languages) alongside SQL or other data interrogation tools to support pricing development activities Reviewing and assuring technical outputs through effective code review, software testing principles and strong quality ownership to ensure accurate and stable customer pricing Managing competing priorities, making informed decisions and coordinating delivery across multiple workstreams to meet deadlines and business objectives Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Pricing, Underwriting, IT, Sales and wider business teams, contributing to governance, audit, change and continuous improvement activities At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique.
