The HR Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to a designated area of the organisation, ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures. This role involves overseeing resource planning, maintaining employee records, managing training, supporting line managers with employee relations issues, and providing advice and guidance to employees. The HR Officer will also assist in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
1. Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
2. Support the resolution of employee issues and conflicts in a fair and consistent manner.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, attendance, contract changes, and performance data.
4. Lead the process of onboarding new starters, ensuring all compliance checks are completed, documentation is in place, and relevant contracts are issued.
5. Plan and coordinate the 2-day company induction and onboarding process.
6. Collate and check payroll data monthly, liaising with line managers and payroll to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
7. Assist with resource planning by identifying departmental staffing needs and proposing solutions for efficient resource allocation and succession planning.
8. Assist in implementing and managing performance appraisal systems.
9. Support managers in conducting performance reviews and developing performance improvement plans.
10. Ensure compliance with UK employment laws and regulations.
11. Support the development, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures to keep them current and compliant.
12. Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to support employee development.
13. Assist in creating and delivering in-house training sessions.
14. Prepare HR reports and analytics to support decision-making.
15. Monitor HR metrics and provide insights to improve HR practices and strategies.
Skills/Qualifications:
* CIPD qualification or equivalent is desirable.
* Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS).
* Strong knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience Required:
