Sixth Form Learning Mentor - Barnet
Full-time | Secondary School | Immediate Start
Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with well-regarded secondary schools in the London Borough of Barnet to recruit Sixth Form Learning Mentors to support students in Years 12 and 13. These are full-time positions to start immediately and has the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
The Role:
As a Sixth Form Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students' academic progress and personal development. You will work closely with the Head of Sixth Form, subject teachers, and pastoral staff to provide targeted support to students through:
1. 1:1 and small group mentoring
2. Supporting students with study skills, time management and exam preparation
3. Monitoring attendance, punctuality and engagement
4. Providing guidance to students facing barriers to learning
5. Assisting with the delivery of enrichment activities and university/apprenticeship preparation

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
6. Experience working with young people aged 16-18 in an educational or youth work setting
7. A calm, supportive and proactive approach to mentoring
8. Excellent communication and organisational skills
9. A good academic background (degree-level preferred)
10. An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or be willing to undertake one)
