1 x ground worker pay £15.00ph - £18.00ph
1 x labourer pay £13.00ph - £15.00ph
must be able to drive and have own transport, work will also continue in home counties for long term work .
if you have a valid CRB check this would be an advantage
Role Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Groundworker & labourer to deliver high-quality work in brickwork, drainage, paving, and excavation. You’ll be responsible for setting out and executing groundwork tasks to a very high standard, ensuring structural integrity, aesthetics, and compliance with project specs and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Brickwork & Brickwork Repairs
Build and repair walls, footings, pillars, etc., using varied bonding techniques and mortar mixing.
Make precise repairs – replacing damaged brickwork, patching mortar joints, repointing.
Excavation & Drainage Works
Interpret plans to dig trenches and form footings accurately.
Install and repair drainage systems (pipes, gullies, soakaways), working in confined spaces where required
Hard Landscaping (Paving & Block Paving)
Set out and lay paving slabs, block paving, kerbs, and edgings with accurate levels, tight joints, and clean finishes.
Ensure proper bed preparation and compaction for long-lasting surfaces
High Pressure Water Jetting
Safely operate HP water jetting equipment to clean brickwork, paved areas, drains, and sewers.
Perform equipment checks, nozzle selection, site risk assessment, and cordoning off worksites
Site Prep & Safety Compliance
Set up temporary works: barriers, signage, access platforms.
Follow method statements, site inductions, RAMS, PPE usage, and confined space protocols.

Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in:
Bricklaying and brickwork repair
Trenching, excavation, and drainage installation
Laying paving slabs and block paving accurately
Operating high pressure water jetting equipment
Ability to interpret technical drawings and work to levels and tolerances
Experience with manual and light mechanical aids (plates, rollers, levels)
Qualifications
CSCS Groundworker or Skilled Worker card
CPCS/NPORS tickets for relevant plant (e.g. excavator, dumper)
High-pressure water jetting certification: CSCS
Confined spaces training and Street works (NRSWA) ticket advantageous.
