HR Manager, Hybrid – 9 Month Contract (Likely Extension) – Cambridge
We're supporting a fast-growing life sciences consultancy in Cambridge to hire a Human Resources Manager on an initial 9-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.

The HR Manager leads HR operations across their country cluster, driving alignment of people practices and ensuring smooth integration, policy harmonisation, and compliance. They support leaders and HRBPs, oversee change initiatives, and promote a strong employee experience and workplace culture, with guidance from the HR Director.
What you'll be doing
Act as the HR lead for countries within the assigned region/cluster.
Ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations, and statutory requirements, working closely with legal counsel where needed.
Support the setup of new countries and entities, including contracts, payroll, benefits, and providers.
Advise HRBPs, managers, and stakeholders on regional people matters, including performance, dismissals, redundancy, and compensation.
Lead HR interviews and salary negotiations for relevant roles and support talent acquisition with market insights and benchmarks.
Drive policy harmonisation and integration activities during mergers and acquisitions, considering cultural nuances and change management.
Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, including exit interviews and right-to-work compliance.
Support compensation cycles, performance management, and talent calibration to ensure fairness and consistency.
Deliver local HR communications, training sessions, and employee updates on legislation and policy changes.
Partner with HR Operations to provide regional data, manage audits, quality documentation, and works council requirements where applicable.
What we're looking for
7+ years' experience in a senior/global HR leadership role, or 5+ years' experience as an HR Team Lead/HR Manager.
Solid background in end-to-end HR management.
Strong knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated experience in change management and organisational development.
