About the Role
As a Head Chef, you'll be responsible for managing a team of chefs and catering assistants, organizing rotas, setting objectives, and ensuring food safety standards are met. You'll work on delivering delicious, nutritious meals while managing financial aspects, production planning, waste, and stock management. This role offers limited late nights, with most Fridays or Saturdays off, especially outside peak season, and no work over Christmas.
Responsibilities
1. Manage and lead the catering team, including rota organization and training needs assessment.
2. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, allergen, and food safety standards.
3. Oversee food production, menu execution, and quality control.
4. Manage financial aspects of catering operations, including budgeting and stock control.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef in a mid-to-large scale dining environment.
* Understanding of food mass production.
* Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and managing complex dietary requirements, including allergies and intolerances.
* Qualifications: City & Guilds 7061/2 (or equivalent) and Level 3 or above in Food Safety and Allergen Management.
