2 Days Cover For A Local Authority Organisation
Job Purpose
To prepare, cook, and serve high-quality food in a safe, hygienic, and efficient manner, supporting the daily operations of the YPO supply shop café/food service area.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items in line with menu specifications
* Ensure all food is presented to a high standard of quality and consistency
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
* Follow all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation (FIFO)
* Receive and store deliveries appropriately
* Minimise food waste and control portion sizes
* Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
* Support menu planning and suggest improvements where appropriate
* Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly
Requirements
* Previous experience as a cook, chef, or kitchen assistant
* Knowledge of food hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Safety preferred)
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Team player with a positive attitude
* Basic understanding of stock control
